Jeu de boules, also known as pétanque, can be played all year round in Utrecht, because the courts at Paardenveld are indoors. That makes it one of the few group activities where the weather plays no part, not even in November.
The group plays in teams against each other. You get an explanation on the spot, so no experience is needed. Bites are on the table while you play. It is a five-minute walk from Utrecht Centraal, which is handy when people come by train.
